The Ring-tum Phi is an independent student newspaper that serves the community of Washington and Lee University and the surrounding Lexington area with reliable news coverage. Print papers are published every other Monday during the undergraduate school year. Content is updated on the Ring-tum Phi website and on Instagram, Facebook and X at @ringtumphi between print publications.

The Ring-tum Phi is duly incorporated as a nonprofit under Virginia law and maintains financial and editorial independence from Washington and Lee University. The newsroom’s independence is central to the Ring-tum Phi’s mission, as its leadership has been driven by the students and for the students since 1897.
