Men’s track claims victories

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee men’s track and field team had two event winners on day two of the W&L Carnival on Saturday.

Senior Aaron Jeong (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson) won the 100m with a time of 10.87 and senior Eddie Barnes (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) took the top spot in the javelin with a toss of 56.73m (186’01.00″). Senior Mike Agrippina (Sandy Springs, Ga./ Holy Spirit) claimed fourth in the javelin with a mark of 53.58m (175’09.00″).

Sophomore Ian McDonald (Richmond, Va./Douglas S. Freeman) finished second in the 800m with a new career-best time of 1:53.84. In the pole vault, sophomore Robert Jones (Albany, N.Y./Albany Academy) claimed fourth with a leap of 3.96m (12’11.75″).

The 4x100m relay finished third in 43.78. The foursome consisted of first-year Andrew Kim (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg), Jeong, junior Charlie Zachariades (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and Jones.

The Generals next compete at the Jopson Invite hosted by Bridgewater on March 27 and 28.
