Phi: Was that the first time you’ve scored a hat trick?

RM: Yes

Phi: Do you have any pregame rituals/habits?

RM: I always (usually) put my sleeves, shin guards, socks and cleats on in the same order- right sleeve and sock, then left and so on.

Phi: Favorite pregame meal?

RM: Apple cinnamon oatmeal

Phi: When did you start playing soccer?

RM: When I was 6 or 7, in first grade.

Phi: Who is your favorite athlete?

RM: Tobin Heath [Professional soccer player and member of US Women’s National Team]

Phi: What is your favorite part of being on the W&L soccer team?

RM: My favorite part of playing soccer at school is being part of a team. A really special community comes from spending countless hours together on a field, getting fired up about new snacks and big games in the locker room and learning how to encourage each other to be the best part of something bigger than any one of us. You discover a lot about yourself as a teammate, and it’s awesome to watch people around you find more in them than they thought was possible- on and off the field. I wouldn’t trade getting to be outside every day playing a sport I love with some of my greatest friends.
