Escaped California inmates finally captured
February 1, 2016
All three inmates who escaped from a maximum-security prison in Santa Ana, Ca. on Jan. 22 have been taken back into custody. Bac Duong, 43, turned himself in to authorities around noon on Jan. 29. His two accomplices, Hossein Nayeri, 37, and Jonathan Tieu, 20, were captured 400 miles north on Jan. 30 in San Francisco. According to investigators, the three men broke out of the Men’s Central Jail after they cut through a steel screen, navigated plumbing tunnels, and used rope made from bed linens to scale the side of the building. Some of the men were sent to prison after being charged with torture, kidnapping, and murder.
