Some Washington and Lee University events have been canceled as part of a growing response to the new coronavirus

‘Considering Matthew Shepard’ events: Happening, through Friday

The open forum moderated by Matthew Shepard’s parents is scheduled for Thursday, March 12 at 5pm in Wilson Concert Hall. The ticketed multimedia musical performance is still happening on Friday, March 13 at 8pm, but the performances planned for Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 are canceled.

“Everybody” play: Happening, through Friday

Play director Stephanie Sandberg said that performances of “Everybody” are still scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 at 7:30pm. The shows scheduled for Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 have been canceled.

“To Be a Queen: Histories of Drag and Transness” Talk: Canceled

The talk by Prof. Gregory Samantha Rosenthal of Roanoke College that was scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 has been canceled.

Equality Gala: Canceled

General’s Unity treasurer Lauren Davis, ‘21, said that the event is still on, for now. The annual dance is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at 8pm.
