Will Bannister, ‘17, has been playing great tennis of late, as he earned ODAC Player of the Week Honors for the week ending Mar. 26. He earned the honor by going 4–0 in singles play on the week and by leading his team to a 3–1 record on the week. He is currently riding a five match singles winning streak, as he has not lost since his match against Bridgewater on Mar. 21. The Phi recently sat down with Bannister to discuss his tennis game and other areas of his life.

Washington & Lee as a Division III school for athletics does not get the chance to compete against Division I athletes very often, but the women’s track team did on Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational at Liberty University. Samantha Yates, ’19, not only won a 5K race against a pool that consisted of primarily Division I athletes, but she also set a meet and facility record with a time of 17:44.39. General of the Week: Marshall Hollerith, ‘17
The Washington and Lee football team, coming off an ODAC championship, is making yet another strong push for the postseason. One constant for both last year’s team and this year’s team has been the standout play of running back Marshall Hollerith, ’17. Over the last two years he has rushed for 1,262 and 17 touchdowns in 16 games, including 127 yards and a score in the Generals 52-7 thumping of Hampden-Sydney on homecoming.
