Around the Globe: “Top Secret” emails found on Hillary Clinton’s Private Server

The federal government announced Jan. 29 that it will not release 22 emails found on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private web server because they contain “top secret” information. This marks the first time that such highly classified material has been found on Clinton’s server. According to State Department spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby, the documents in question were “not marked classified at the time they were sent.” Clinton’s press secretary said the Clinton campaign strongly opposes the decision to keep these emails from being made public. This controversy comes just three days before the hotly contested Iowa Caucuses, which has the Democratic frontrunner locked in a fierce battle with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
