General of the Week: Devin Kearns, ’19
As a freshman, Kearns ranks second on the team in scoring during ODAC play with 15.9 points per contest, third on the team in rebounding, all the while leading the Generals in steals. He has scored in double figures in eight of the team’s last nine games, including a 27-point outburst against Roanoke. The Phi sat down with Kearns to learn more about his first year as a General, both on and off the court.
General of the Week: Noah Schammel
Swimmer Noah Schammel, ‘18, played a pivotal role in the Generals’ decisive 156-97 win over Catholic, winning two individual races. He currently holds the fastest times for the Generals this season in both the 100-yd. butterfly and 200-yd. butterfly. Schammel sat down with us at the Phi to discuss the season, his favorite activities outside of the pool and more.
General of the Week: Andy Kleinlein
Andy Kleinlein, ‘17, scored 10 points, including a gamewinner, in the Men’s Basketball Team’s 74-72 upset of nationally ranked Catholic University. The Ring-tum Phi sat down with Kleinlein to discuss H-O-R-S-E shooting strategies, goals for the upcoming season and more.
General of the Week: Tom “Baner” Bane
After more than four decades of service at Washington and Lee, equipment manager Tom Bane, or “Baner” as he is often called, is moving on to the next stage in his life: retirement. Bane took some time to sit down with us and talk about his experience at W&L, his hobbies and the future.
General of the Week: Walker Brand, ’18
Sophomore running back Walker Brand helped lead the football team to a 42-14 victory over Emory and Henry College last Saturday, rushing for 122 yards and two touchdowns. He has 534 yards and four touchdowmns on the season. Brand sat down with us at The Ring-tum Phi this week to talk about football, his hobbies and more.

Tricia Jessee, ‘17, of the Women’s Soccer Team has been selected the General of the Week after leading her team with two goals in a 5-0 win against Randolph-Macon. She told the Phi about her season, and her hopes for the upcoming playoffs.
General of the Week: Tommy Thetford
Tommy Thetford, ‘17, was recently named the D3swimming.com Men’s Swimmer of the Week after a dominant performance in the team’s meet against Centre College. He has also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials in Omaha. Thetford took some time out of his schedule to speak with the Ring-tum Phi this week about swimming, school and more.
General of the week: Rebecca Morris
Sophomore midfielder Rebecca Morris has been named General of the Week after scoring a hat trick in the women’s soccer game against Randolph on Sept. 18. The rest of the team contributed six more goals in a dominating 9-0 victory over the Wildcats.
